Become a Volunteer

Interested in spending more time at the Gorge? Join our team of volunteers. No experience necessary. Once you register requesting to volunteer you will be contacted by email to set up an orientation. Liability waivers need to be signed annually. Once approved as a volunteer you will be activated on the website and able to sign up.

Our dedicated volunteers play a huge role in the success and growth of the Gorge. Their dedication of time, effort and energy help us to keep the Gorge safe for all visitors and allow us to offer a wide variety of quality programs.




Current Volunteer Opportunities


Plant Partners - Join us for pruning, weeding and spreading mulch in our pollinating gardens and berms. Opportunities every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00-11:00AM.

                            Wednesdays & Fridays in the morning hours, come help keep our pollinating plants hydrated an thriving by delivering water to native plants along the trail.


Trailblazer - Individuals and groups looking for a project or team-building activity with a purpose? Join us in maintaining the miles of trails, geological features in and around the Gorge, and expanding our Outdoor Classroom spaces. Help us preserve this geological wonder for all who visit. Opportunities every Tuesday 9:00-11:00 AM and Monday's for the month of November.


Outdoor Educator - Like to teach?  Come help us by leading educational stations that encourage and support learning for our student visitors. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday's as scheduled.


Tour Guide/Docent - We offer hands on training to allow you to showcase your knowledge of the Gorge by leading groups of visitors on an educational hike. Weekly opportunities.


Gorge Overlook Trail Ambassador - Showcase your knowledge of the Gorge by providing hikers with more in-depth information at one of the eight nodes along the Gorge Overlook Trail. Help to monitor the safety and cleanliness of the trail.

Welcome Ambassador - Greet visitors with a friendly face and passionate spirit. Assist new visitors with finding parking and help direct them to Gorge Headquarters. Tuesday - Saturday.
